Cool Stuff

Here I’ll occasionally add links to stuff I think is useful for Chinese learners. That’s “people who learn Chinese”, not “Chinese people who learn stuff”. If you’re the latter, I don’t think I can help you, unless what you’re learning is English and you live in Taipei. If that’s the case, please contact me, because I consider myself to be a pretty good (and affordable) tutor.

For those in the former category, the first thing you need to know about is Pleco (review forthcoming). The rest will be added later.

  1. I enjoy reading your blog. Though I can’t find a RSS feed button, so I can get updates. Cheers Jono1001

Noted. I’ll try to remember to figure out how to add one when I get some time. Meanwhile, you can subscribe to posts via email if you want.

    Thanks for reading!

  3. Very interesting blog, there seem to be more and more blogs for Chinese learners which can’t be a bad thing at all! How would you classify your Chinese now?

That’s an interesting question. I’ve gotten far enough to know how much farther I have to go. My passive skills are OK (I can understand almost all of what I hear, and read academic books and papers in my field), but my active skills need some serious work.
